We Quilt, Inc. (“Quilt”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes and explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information you share with us. “Personal Information" is information that enables us to identify you, such as your name and email address. We process Personal Information both as a Processor and as a Controller as defined in the GDPR. Our Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Service for the Quilt Platform, and all terms not defined in this Privacy Policy are defined in the Terms of Service. Please read this policy carefully so that you understand our privacy practices. We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, do not use the Quilt Platform or give us any of your information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 From You or With Your Permission

We collect a variety of information from you when you provide it to us directly, when we request it from you, or when you give us permission to get it from a third party source.  Here are some examples of these instances:

 

Contact Information:

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as name, phone number, email address, profile photo, and bio when you register for the Quilt Platform or add this information to your Quilt Account. To participate in certain activities and to obtain certain services offered on the Quilt Platform, you may be asked to provide additional information such as credit card information, and all of the other information that you choose to provide. 

 

Sign in with Apple:

The Quilt Platform authenticates users using Sign in with Apple. If you use your Apple account to log in to the Quilt Platform, you authorize Apple to share your Personal Information with us, including your name and email address.

 

Engagement with Quilt and Members:

As you engage with us on the Quilt Platform, by sending us or other Members written communications or request our support using the Quilt Platform, we collect the information you provide in these interactions. Solely for the purpose of supporting investigations of reported violations of our Terms (including our Community Guidelines), we temporarily record the audio in a room while the room is live. We retain the audio recordings for 72 hours and if there is a reported violation of our Terms (including our Community Guidelines) during that time, we retain the audio for the purposes of investigating the report, and then delete it when the investigation is complete. If no report is made within 72 hours, we delete the temporary audio recording. Audio from (i) muted speakers and (ii) Listeners is never captured.

 

1.2 From Your Browser and Device:

When you visit the Quilt Platform we also collect non-personally identifiable information, which is information that by itself cannot be used to identify or contact you, including demographic information (such as age or gender) or usage information (such as the browser you are using, the URL that referred you to the Quilt Platform and the areas of the Quilt Platform that you visit). Device data, which tells about the device you’re using, such as what type and model it is, its operating system and version, its unique identifier, crash data (if applicable), and what settings you’ve enabled, such as notifications. Your device and software settings affect what information your device makes available to us. If you’ve chosen to enable the feature to allow the Quilt Platform to connect with your device’s contact list to be notified about which of your contacts are Members, we collect information from your device’s contact list.

 

1.3 From Third Parties

We may collect information about you from other Members, for example, if another Member uploads their contact list, we may combine information from that Member’s contact list with other information we have collected about you.

 

2. Information We Use

We use your information in order to improve the Quilt Platform for all of our Members, such as:

• To support the functioning of the Quilt Platform itself and the services offered, and to inform improvements to both,

• To enforce, investigate, and report conduct violating our Terms of Service and other usage policies, respond to requests from law enforcement, and comply with legal requirements,

• To contact you for your feedback, or to respond to feedback you have provided,

• To conduct research about our audience, including the demographics thereof, and how you are using the Quilt Platform,

• To notify you of policy changes including changes to our Terms or Privacy Policy,

• To offer you promotions or to process your entrance in and any fulfillment of promotions you choose to take advantage of,

• To personalize our services by helping you find your contacts to connect with on the Quilt Platform.

3. Sharing & Disclosure

We will not rent or sell your information to third parties outside of Quilt without your consent.

 

We may share information about you as follows:

• If sharing the information is reasonably necessary to provide or otherwise make available the Quilt Platform and any feature of the Quilt Platform or a service that you have requested;

• With third-party vendors or consultants who need access to such information in order to provide support for the services we offer via the Quilt Platform;

• With third-party websites and other third-parties that we engage for our marketing and promotional purposes, all who have signed an agreement with us to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy;

• In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, regulation or legal process, or as otherwise required by any applicable law, rule or regulation;

• If we believe your actions are inconsistent with the Terms or our other policies and in order to protect the rights, property, and safety of the Quilt Platform and our Members;

• In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company; and

• With your consent or at your direction. We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

 

4. Third-Party Sites

The Quilt Platform may contain links to other sites. Quilt is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing of your information in connection with such third-party sites please read their privacy policies before visiting  or providing your information to third-party sites.

 

5. Social Media Features and Widgets

Our Site may integrate with social sharing features or other related tools which let you share actions you take on the Quilt Platform with other apps, sites or media, and vice versa. These features may enable the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you choose with the social sharing service. For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with social sharing features, please visit the privacy policies of the companies that provide these features.

 

6. Cookies

We use cookies and other similar technologies for a variety of reasons including to remember preferences, track conversions, conduct marketing and promotional efforts, analyze site traffic and trends, and generally understand the online behaviors and interests of our Members.

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf or to provide other advertising services. These companies may use a cookie, to tailor the ads you see on the Quilt Platform and other sites, to track your response to their ads or to award incentives to their members who respond to their ads.

 

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Removing or rejecting browser cookies does not necessarily affect third-party flash cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of the Quilt Platform.

 

7. Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow others to provide analytics services. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Quilt Platform and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information. Quilt and others may use this information to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand user online activity.

 

8. Access Your Information

As a visitor, you have the right to request access to the information we have collected about you. You can do this by contacting us at support@wequilt.com. We will provide you with an electronic copy of the information we process about you.

 

9. Correcting or Deleting Your Information and Revoking Permissions

You may change or delete information we have about you at any time by editing your Quilt Profile or by contacting us at support@wequilt.com, but please know that we may retain certain information about you as required by law.

 

If you ask Quilt to delete your record, your record will be deactivated and then deleted from our user database without undue delay and in no case longer than 30 days.

 

If you have signed up to receive promotional emails from us, you can choose to “opt-out” of receiving direct marketing from us in the future by indicating that you would like to “opt-out” in any such communication or by emailing us directly at support@wequilt.com. If you opt-out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your Quilt Account or changes to our Terms or policies.

 

If you enabled the feature to allow the Quilt Platform to connect with your device’s contact list you can revoke that permission by changing the settings in your Quilt Account.

 

10. Security and Data Storage

We are committed to protecting your information. Quilt takes reasonable precautions to safeguard your information from loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, unauthorized access, and destruction. However, we cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to Quilt or guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

 

11. International Privacy Laws

If you are using the Quilt Platform from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending your Personal Information to the United States where our servers are located. The information may then be transferred within the United States or back out of the United States to other countries, outside of your country of residence. These countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country of residence; however, our collection, storage and use of your Personal Information will at all times continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy.

 

12. No Use for Children Under the Age of 18

The Quilt Platform is not intended for use by children under 18 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal information through the Platform from a child under 18, we will delete it. If you believe we may have information from or about a child under 18, please notify us at support@wequilt.com.

 

13. Your Consent to this Privacy Policy

By using the Quilt Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. The date of the most recent update of this document will always be displayed at the beginning of this page. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we are protecting the information we collect. Your continued use of the Quilt Platform constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates.
